ワルシャワ大学講師、九州栄養福祉大学講師を経て現職。

Research
比較文学・文化、近現代日本語文学、英語圏文学、欧州文学。ラフカディオ・ハーン（小泉八雲）を主軸に、19・20世紀文学・文化を研究。また、「山口大学研究推進体：人と移動研究推進体」の研究代表として、国内外の研究者と学際的に、様々な「移動」を研究中。さらに、英語作家J・ロンドンの秘書が山口からのハワイ移民であったことを発見し、文学における「南洋・南方」についての研究も進行中。

I obtained a PhD in Comparative Society and Culture. My field of research is comparative literature and culture, modern Japanese Literature, Anglophone Literature, and European Literature. My research focuses on 19th- and 20th-century literature and culture, with a particular emphasis on Lafcadio Hearn (Koizumi Yakumo). I am the author of many research articles concerning Lafcadio Hearn, as well as many other Japanese and non-Japanese authors. Recently, I have discovered that Jack London’s secretary was a Hawaiian immigrant from Yamaguchi, which has led me to further investigate representations of the “South Seas/Southern Regions” in literature.
