東京大学海洋研究所PD，茨城大学理学部助手・助教授・准教授を経て現職

RESEARCH
深海底コアや陸上（特に房総半島）に分布する海成層を用いることで，地磁気逆転時の磁場の振る舞いを詳細に解析する研究や，古地磁気・酸素同位体・微化石を組み合わせた複合層序の確立，および氷期−間氷期変動の解析に関する研究を行っている。

Professor Okada obtained a PhD degree from the University of Tokyo in 1992. He worked at the Ocean Research Institute, University of Tokyo as a JSPS researcher during 1992-1993. He joined College of Science, Ibaraki University as an assistant professor in 1993, and was appointed as an associate professor in 2000, then to the current position since April 2015. His research fields are paleomagnetism and paleoceanography using deep sea cores and on-land marine sedimentary sequences.
