山口大学大学院医学系研究科助教、UCDavis Medical Center 　Research Fellow、保健管理センター講師、准教授を経て2020年より教授・副所長、2024年4月より現職

RESEARCH
専門は消化器病学 再生医療学。大学の検診業務(職員・学生)と大学産業医として労働安全衛生業務に携わり、大学院・留学時代からの再生医療の基礎研究と線維化・脂肪化への新規治療薬の探求を行っている。最近、生活習慣病による様々な遺伝子の変化と日内変動の研究を行う。

Professor Naoki Yamamoto obtained PhD degree from Yamaguchi University Graduate School of Medicine. He worked the research about the new liver regeneration therapy using autologous bone marrow cell and worked the research about liver regeneration using Human ES cell in UCDMC USA.
He continues to search the mechanism how stem cells repair fibrosis or fat deposition and to search the new drug to repair fibrosis or fat deposition. Recently, he is interested in some genes of clock and chronotype.
