RESEARCH
医療社会学、社会問題の社会学。ハンセン病を患った経験がある人々や、HTLV-1（ヒトT細胞白血病ウイルス1型）関連疾患の当事者に、主としてインタビュー調査を実施しながら、病いと共に生きることの社会的意味を研究している。他にも天理教里親の研究やスケートボードの研究等も。

Kuwahata Yoichiro obtained a PhD from the University of Kyushu, Graduate School of Social and Cultural Studies. He worked at Miyazaki Gakuen Junior College, Baiko Gakuin University, and joined Yamaguchi University as an
associate professor Since 2017. Medical sociology and the sociology of social problems as a major area of study. His major Fields of study are medical sociology and the sociology of social problems. Specifically, he study for life history of people related to leprosy and people related to HTLV-1(Human T-Cell Leukemia Virus type 1) related diseases. His other work includes research on foster parents of Tenrikyo believers and skateboarders.
