1964年生まれ。
東北大学理学研究科地学専攻博士課程後期中途退学、博士（理学）
鉄道総合技術研究所地質研究室長、同防災技術研究部長、山口大学大学院創成科学研究科准教授を経て現職。

Research
応用地質学。地質調査と現地観測及び数値実験に基づいた地形発達過程を考慮した降雨による斜面災害のメカニズム解明と危険度評価。水－岩石反応に基づく地下水水質形成過程の解明と地盤環境変化予測。防災・減災や地盤環境分野において、理学的考え方の実学への適用を進めている。

Dr. Takehiro OHTA is a professor of Faculty of Science, Yamaguchi University, Japan. He is affiliated in the Department of Geosphere Science. He held a doctorate in Volcanic Geology and Petrology from the Tohoku University, Japan. His research interests are the engineering geological and geo-ecological approach to mitigating natural hazards and the geo-environmental assessment for infrastructure construction.
