九州大学大学院理学研究科博士後期課程修了　博士（理学）
日本学術振興会特別研究員（海洋科学技術センター）、山口大学農学部（助手～准教授）、文部科学省在外研究員（米国NCAR）、山口大学大学院創成科学研究科（准教授）を経て現職。

RESEARCH
気象学。毎年のように被害が報告される集中豪雨やゲリラ豪雨をもたらす降水雲内の水の集中化メカニズムの解明を目指して、梅雨から冬季の降雪まで、雲の中の小さなスケールに注目して、観測的なアプローチで研究を行っている。また、観測測器の開発にも積極的に挑戦している。

Professor Suzuki obtained a PhD degree from Kyushu University, Graduate School of Earth and Planetary Sciences. His research interests include cloud physics, in other words, the behavior of precipitation particles in clouds. He develops instruments to measure precipitation particles in clouds and conducts observational studies using these instruments. He conducts observations throughout Japan to observe heavy rainfall assciated with Baiu in the warm season and heavy snowfall in the cold season.
